As from today, 13th March, and in line with the latest NHS England guidance we will be changing our appointments to mainly telephone consultations. The purpose of this is to reduce the risk to our vulnerable and older patients and our clinical staff becoming infected with the Corona virus. When you contact the surgery you will be given an appointment and time but this will be conducted by telephone. If as a result of the telephone call, the GP or nurse agrees a face to face appointment is needed, this can then be booked. As you can appreciate, home visits will have to be kept to the minimum, based on the GP’s assessment of the need.
This will allow us to ensure that essential things like prescriptions, reviewing test results, discharge letters and referrals are kept going.
Also remember we offer a wide range of services that allow you to contact the surgery via our website, via email, use econsult (our on line triage service) and on line access to your medical records.
We will be reviewing this on a daily basis, so please continue to look at our web site or our Facebook page for the latest update.
Thank you for your understanding at this time.
On behalf of the Practice, Patient Participation Group and NHS England.
